Sunflower Festival by Travel to Bicol
The activity highlights the 22nd Cityhood Anniversary celebration of Ligao, presented by the City Government of Ligao headed by Mayor Fernando V. Gonzalez, Vice-Mayor Jaypee M. David, and the Sangguniang Panlungsod. Various government agencies, private organizations, and establishments participate in the Civic parade.
SUNFLOWER FESTIVAL – LIGAO ALBAY (March 20 – 26) The Sunflower Festival, held in conjunction with the anniversary of the cityhood of Ligao City, spotlights the flamboyant flower that abounds in the area. This flower symbolizes their faith, resiliency, hope, and love. The Sunflower Festival dance features the story of Ligao City “from the legendary roots of the five ancient Datus that instituted this land Ligao City to the gifts of the Spanish colonizers, the gift of fate, and up to the present where we Ligaoeños take pride in our beautiful sunflowers,” as told by Ms. Balingbing during the introduction of the Sunflower Festival.
